Network Rack and IT Closet Cleanup in New Jersey

A messy rack slows down every fix. When nobody can trace a cable, a ten minute job turns into an afternoon. We clean up network racks and IT closets so you can see what connects to what, then label it so it stays that way.

What we do

Network Rack Cleanup, done right.

We do this for businesses, general contractors, integrators and national service networks. Most cleanups start the same way: too many long patch cords, no labels, and old cable nobody wants to touch. We take it apart in small batches, put it back neat, and hand you a map of every port.

  • Rack cleanup and cable dressing

Patch cords rerouted through cable managers and bundled with hook and loop ties, not zip ties.

  • Right length patch cords

Long cords stuffed into short gaps replaced with cords that fit, color coded by use if you want.

  • Labeling

Patch panel ports, switch ports and both ends of each cord labeled to a scheme you pick.

  • Port maps

A spreadsheet that shows each panel port, the switch port it feeds and the room or jack it serves.

  • Abandoned cable removal

Dead cable pulled out of the rack and the ceiling instead of left behind.

  • Rack and closet moves

New racks, shelves, cable managers and power strips mounted, and gear moved when you relocate.

How it works

From first call to closeout.

We work for general contractors, integrators, national service networks, businesses and homeowners. The steps are the same.

  1. 01

    Photos and walk through

We take before photos and note what can't go down: internet, phones, cameras, registers.

  2. 02

    Pick a work window

We agree on a time that suits your business, so short port outages land when they hurt least.

  3. 03

    Record first

Every connection is written down before it moves, so each cord goes back to the right port.

  4. 04

    Clean up in batches

One section at a time, checking link lights and service as we go.

  5. 05

    Label and hand over

Labels in place, a port map, and before and after photos for your records.

FAQ

Common questions.

Will my network go down during the cleanup?

Each port is only offline for a moment while its cord is swapped. We work in small batches, leave the internet connection and critical gear for last, and check that everything is back before moving on.

How long does a rack cleanup take?

A single small wall rack is often done in a few hours. A full closet with several racks can take a day or more. After we see photos or walk the closet, the quote includes a time estimate.

Do you need our passwords or switch settings?

No. A physical cleanup does not need access to your switches. We record where every cable goes before it moves and put it back the same way. If you also want switch changes, your IT person handles that and we work alongside them.

Can you remove old cable from the ceiling?

Yes. The electrical code calls for removing the accessible part of abandoned low voltage cable, and it clears space for future work. We pull it out and leave the ceiling the way we found it.

Do you supply patch cords and labels?

Yes. We can supply patch cords in the right lengths and colors, hook and loop ties, cable managers and labels, listed in the quote. We can also use material you already have.

Ready to get it on the schedule?

Send the drawings, a few photos or just a short note about the job, and we will put together a clear, written quote.
