Data Center Rack Surveys in New Jersey

When nobody is sure what's in the racks, every change carries risk. We walk data centers, colocation cages and server rooms rack by rack and record what's there. You get rack elevations, port maps, photos and a workbook your team can actually use.

What we do

Data Center Rack Surveys, done right.

We do this work for owners, integrators and national service networks ahead of migrations, refreshes, audits and cleanups. Every rack is captured the same way so the data lines up across rows, sites and crews. A survey is look and record only. Nothing gets unplugged unless your team approves it.

  • Rack inventory

Each device by U position, with make, model, name label, and serial and asset tag where visible.

  • Rack elevations

Front and rear drawings showing every device, blank panel and open U.

  • Port maps

Patch panel and switch ports, what each one connects to, and the label on each cable.

  • Power

PDUs, outlets in use, and A and B feeds per device where they can be traced.

  • Photos

Front and rear of every rack plus close ups of labels and panels, filed by rack ID.

  • Documentation set

A workbook, elevation drawings and an organized photo set, in your template if you have one.

How it works

From first call to closeout.

We work for general contractors, integrators, national service networks, businesses and homeowners. The steps are the same.

  1. 01

    Scope call

Rack count, level of detail, site access rules, escorts and work hours, agreed up front.

  2. 02

    Site check in

We follow the facility's badging, escort and photo rules from the first day.

  3. 03

    Survey

Rack by rack, the same fields and photo angles every time.

  4. 04

    Check before we leave

Each rack's data is checked against its photos while we can still walk back to it.

  5. 05

    Deliver

The full documentation set, organized by row and rack, on the date we agreed.

FAQ

Common questions.

Do you need to power anything down?

No. A survey is read only. We record from labels, front panels and cable paths, and nothing is unplugged unless your team approves it.

What format do the deliverables come in?

A spreadsheet workbook, elevation drawings as PDF, and photos organized by rack. If you have a template or an import format for your DCIM tool, send it and we will match it.

How long does a survey take?

It depends on how full the racks are and how much port mapping you need. Inventory only goes much faster than a full port map. We estimate per rack after the scope call.

Do you work in colocation facilities?

Yes. We follow the site's escort, badging and photo rules. If photos are not allowed in a space, we record by hand and note it in the deliverable.

Do you travel for larger surveys?

Yes. We are based in New Jersey and cover all of New Jersey plus Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland. For larger projects we travel nationwide.

Ready to get it on the schedule?

Send the drawings, a few photos or just a short note about the job, and we will put together a clear, written quote.
